Post-event tour for approximately 200 foreigners invited to Jeju for an international event

hello!

This is a wellness camp that delivers Jeju's unique wellness and local culture.

From July 24 to 25, 2025, a special international event took place amidst the lush summer of Jeju. It was the 14th International Association for Literary Ethics and Criticism (IAELC). Wellness Camp participated as a Post Tour operator for this large-scale event, which was co-hosted by the Institute of Asian Cultural Contents and the Digital HUSS Project Group of Korea University.

  • Event Name: 2025 IAELC (The 14th Convention of the International Association for Ethical Literary Criticism)

  • Participants: Over 200 multinational scholars from around the world

  • Tour: 68 Post-tour participants (July 24–25)

What is Post Tour?

This refers to follow-up tour programs specially planned for VIPs and participants after official events, such as conferences or expos, have concluded. Wellness Camp was responsible for the overall event preparation and the post-tours for interested participants; in particular, I would like to share a review of the post-tour (Jeju Culture Trip), which was the final itinerary of the event.

Gather at the venue and depart.

-> Dodubong & Rainbow Coastal Road: Climb the oreum (volcanic cone) representing the head of Jeju to enjoy views of the sea and airport, and take photos at the coastal road's photo zones.

Wellness Camp's Unique Differentiated Tour Strategy for Foreigners

1. Global Standard Operation

We have deployed professional staff to ensure that participants of various nationalities can communicate comfortably and experience the value of Jeju.

2. Reinterpretation of Jeju Locality

Rather than a simple pilgrimage to tourist attractions, we proposed a course that incorporates Jeju's nature and narratives, befitting the nature of the literary criticism society. (e.g., Jeju mid-mountain forest trails, Haenyeo villages, etc.)

3. Efficiency of group travel

We have optimized the route so that a large group of 68 people can move safely and comfortably while fully enjoying the charms of Jeju.

The first schedule at the Halla Convention Center

We set off for the vicinity of Dodu Port for hiking Dodubong Peak, a walk along the Rainbow Coastal Road, and yacht sailing.

Dodubong Trekking near the Airport

Since there are many participants, we divided into groups

We divided the activities into a hike up Dodubong Peak, a walk along the Rainbow Coast Road, and a yacht tour.

Dodubong is one of the three hidden scenic spots selected by Jeju City, and from the summit, you can see the panoramic view of Doduhang Port and the village, as well as the blue Jeju sea and even the airport.

You can see a wonderful view looking down at a glance.

It is a low hill about 67m high, and it only takes about 10 minutes to reach the summit.

I reached the summit before I even had a moment to think I was a little out of breath.

There is nothing quite like the exhilaration of gazing at the wide-open scenery while feeling the cool breeze.

I recommend that you all visit at least once!

Haenyeo Culture Experience Yacht Tour

And then, we immediately headed to Doduhang Port for the Haenyeo Yacht Tour, which included a Haenyeo culture experience.

Cutting through the cool sea

Watch the haenyeo diving right before your eyes

Even the experience of tasting seafood harvested during the tour~~

Smiles never left the participants' faces.

Ecoland Water Train

Then, we moved to Jocheon, had a hearty Jeju-style set meal at Eco Land, and toured the Eco Land theme park.

Ecoland was also holding a new event called the Water Train to welcome the summer.

Prepare raincoats and water guns, and stop briefly at an intermediate station.

With refreshing water bombs pouring down on the train and thrilling water gun fights

It is a unique experience where you rescue a train trapped by a monster(?).

Doesn't it make you feel refreshed just by looking at it? >_<

Not only does the refreshing water streams and water gun fight make you feel like a child again, but it also seems like the best experience for cooling off from the heat for a while.

The participants really enjoyed it, just like children. :D

Jeju Cultural Experience Stone Culture Park

And then we headed to our next destination, the Stone Culture Park.

Stone Culture Park is a place consisting of a massive outdoor garden and an indoor museum.

There are so many things to see, including Sky Pond, which is already famous as a photo zone, as well as the Traditional Thatched Village, the Five Hundred Generals Gallery, and the Stone Museum, but

The 'Seolmundae Halmang Exhibition Hall' recently opened, so we focused our tour on that area.

This place, which contains the folklore, myths, and historical stories of Jeju

Artifacts showing various myths and the lives of ancient Jeju residents, centering on Jeju's stone culture,

It was a place that offered unique attractions that deviated from conventional museums, such as an exhibition hall incorporating modern scientific technology like OLED and a super-large video theater.

The majority of the participants at this conference were foreigners.

I think it was an opportunity to experience Jeju's culture and history in a new light.

Nanta performance

And for the Nanta performance, the final leg of this tour, we moved to the Nanta Hotel in Jeju City.

The Nanta performance here is Korea's first non-verbal theatrical performance that comically portrays events taking place in a kitchen, using the rhythms of Samulnori, a traditional Korean melody, as its theme.

It was a powerful performance where various kitchen utensils such as knives and cutting boards were transformed into cool musical instruments, accompanied by refreshing drum playing, allowing everyone—regardless of nationality, gender, or age—to have a blast and relieve stress.

After the performance,

After transporting the participants to the airport and the event venue

We have completed the entire tour schedule.

A hot summer. It was a short day tour itinerary, but

The participants' faces were filled with a sense of liberation as they faced Jeju's beautiful natural scenery and delicious food after the drinking contest.

I would like to visit Jeju again with my acquaintances, not for an academic conference.

I hope that every aspect of Jeju's culture has been etched into the participants' hearts as precious memories, serving as a catalyst for them to visit Jeju again someday :)
